Michelangelo Seghezzi [Seghtius]
He was born the son of Giovanni Battista in Lodi in 1585. Having entered the Order of Preachers at the age of fourteen, he was vicar of the Holy Office in his home town and in Rome, and professor of holy theology. He was nominated by Clement VIII as Inquisitor in Cremona and then in Milan; but Paul V called him back to Rome and made him first Commissioner of the Holy Office and then on May 19, 1616 Bishop of Lodi. He was consecrated in Rome on the 27 th of the same month, and took possession of his diocese on November 19, 1616. He died in 1625 and was buried in the Cathedral of Lodi.
