Born in Brussels on July 28, 1572, he was taken as a novitiate into the Jesuit Order in Tournai on February 12, 1590. He had relations with many of the best-known astronomers of his day, and taught mathematics and Hebrew at the College in Rome. He died in Rome on March 14, 1615.
