Along the Serchio River, between Filettole and Ripafratta, stands an old waterworks that houses a large pump room. This site will form the nucleus of the nascent "Play and Learning Water Museum", also thanks to a European project finalised at spreading awareness of the value of water as a resource to conserve. According to the proposal of Prof. Giuseppe De Benedittis, the Museum will present the various uses of water through a series of exhibition routes with relief maps, dioramas, models, display cabinets and cases, multimedia stations, and interactive experiments. Until the museum opens, the old waterworks can only be seen from outside.
