Farmacia Betti [Betti Pharmacy]

The origins of the pharmacy date from before the 19th century. Its previous location was in the historic center, on the first floor of an ancient building in Piazza XX Settembre. In 1955 it was moved to a modern building on the outskirts of Sinalunga, where its premises are more spacious.

The furnishings, conserved intact, are the original ones, consisting of a sales counter and three sets of shelves forming a "U" shape. This furniture, in Empire style, white and green with very fine elements of detail, was restored in the late 1970s. About ten years later the furnishings were supplemented by three new shelves in the same style as the antique ones, fabricated by craftsmen from Pesaro and local ones. The only object surviving intact from the antique pharmaceutical equipment is a bronze mortar weighing 70 kilograms.
