Farmacia Centrale Lapucci [Lapucci Central Pharmacy]

Founded in 1863 by Leopoldo Serafini, the pharmacy has occupied its current site since 1956. Dating from the year of its foundation is the wooden furniture of fine workmanship, fabricated by a craftsman from Pontedera. In 1935 it was bought by Dr. Raffaello Lapucci, who had moved here from the Island of Elba, where he had an antique pharmacy, of which a jar dating from Napoleonic times is displayed here. A rich array of pharmaceutical equipment includes jars from the manufactories Richard Ginori and Ragionieri of Sesto Fiorentino dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
