The pharmacy was founded by Dr. Italo Macchia around 1905, on the premises it still occupies today, a building in Via Tosco Romagnola dating from the late 19th century. The furniture in the sales area and the back room, conserved intact, dates from the time when the pharmacy was founded. Its pharmaceutical laboratory was in operation up to the 1980s, supplying wholesalers and pharmacies in the area. Many of the instruments and objects utilised in this production are still to be found in the back rooms.
