Farmacia Petri [Petri Pharmacy]
This is one of the oldest pharmacies in Pisa. In 1853 it was managed by the pharmacist Giuseppe Petri, who made it famous for his galenic preparations, noteworthy among which was Asparagine, a product made from white lupin which was exported to Germany in particular. The galenic tradition still continues today: elixir of cinchona and elixir of rhubarb are prepared according to an antique formulary containing prescriptions from 1864. Fully renovated, the pharmacy still conserves a collection of white ceramic jars.
