Galilei House
Galilei House is a noble dwelling in the historical centre of Santa Maria a Monte, which tradition associates to several ancestors of famous Pisan scientist Galileo Galilei. Though it can not be identified beyond a doubt as the house where they lived, archive sources document that several ancestors of the paternal branch of Galileo’s family did effectively live in Santa Maria a Monte between the second half of the 15th century and the first half of the 16th century.
Nearby Galilei House is the Carducci House Museum, which is also headquarters of the Municipal Historical Archive.
