Grotta Parlanti [Parlanti Grotto]

Alessandro Bicchierai, a renowned expert on the springs of Montecatini, had already mentioned in his Trattato published in Florence in 1788, a spring of warm thermal/mineral water situated on the northern side of the Monsummano mountain. During the course of the 19th century, the virtues of this water having become well known – as documented by many medical certificates – a thermal establishment was built with an artificial cave, known as the Parlanti Grotto. Today, thanks to the Parlanti Grotto and the Giusti Cavern, Monsummano Terme is one of the most renowned anthropic therapy centres in Europe.
