Museo "Emilio Ferrari" di Cultura Contadina ["Emilio Ferrari" Museum of Peasant Culture]

Founded in 2001, the Museum, situated on the third floor of a building in the historic centre of San Donato in Poggio, is managed by the Associazione Culturale Proloco [Local Cultural Association] of San Donato in Poggio. The exhibition consists of the collection put together by the engineer Emilio Ferrari from 1970 to 1990, and then donated to the community. Among the implements of work (19th to 20th century) that bear witness to the rural culture of the Chianti territory are tools used by carpenters, shoemakers, and smiths; for animal husbandry, for the cultivation of olive trees and for wine-growing. An outdoor space for agricultural machines is now being prepared.
