The Museum, whose scope is mainly educational, documents the characteristic features of the Apennine Mountains landscape in the Mugello territory. The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first section focuses on the history of the Abbey of Moscheta, within which the Museum is located. The second section presents the flora, fauna, history of human settlements and society of the Apennine region; the third, the historic periods significant for the modification and utilisation of the territory. An educational workshop and itineraries through the surrounding countryside provide further knowledge of the subjects presented in the exhibits. The Museum forms part of the Mugello – Upper Mugello - Val di Sieve Decentralised Museum.
