It was instituted as an intermediate school in the building it occupies at Camucia, near Cortona, in 1962. The materials in the collection were moved to these premises following the suppression of the Cortona Agricultural Technical Institute. The school possesses a collection of instruments for physics and electrotechnics, as well as audiovisual material dating from the beginning of the 19th century up to the 1950s. Especially interesting are a Ramsden electrostatic machine from 1830, an electro-medical apparatus from the second half of the 19th century, two bellows-operated cameras and magic lanterns dating from the late 19th century and the early 20th, Whimshurt machines from the 1930s and a "Radiorurale" model radio receiver from 1938.
