Time Reckoning: The Sign of Capricorn (p. 108b)


As part of his section on the signs of the zodiac, Michael includes this picture of Capricorn. Capricorn was traditionally depicted as a goat, but Michael uses the image of a unicorn instead. Michael also gives this sign more sympathetic qualities than were usually assigned to it. It has been speculated that this was because it was the sign under which Michael himself was born.

It governs the rivers of the sea and the wild animals. It begins all things, that is the first hour of Friday. Venus rises in two signs, Libra and Capricorn.
