Shipbuilding: Masts, Spars, and Boats (p. 162b)

Michael's shipbuilding text contains lengthy discussions of the measurements of masts, yards, and other equipment. Here, he provides a drawing of a mast, a yard, two side rudders, one stern rudder (lower right), and one boat. Note that the very long yard (antenna) for the triangular lateen sail was made up of two shorter yards lashed together.
