Compound microscope contained in a wooden box covered with black leather. This instrument is the first attempt to produce a pocket microscope with good optics. The body-tube is mounted on a pillar inserted vertically into a support housed in the box. Focusing is either by sliding the body-tube manually in its housing or by a knob screw. The instrument, which also comes with three objectives, was built by Nachet & Fils.
