Nachet & Fils firm

Scientific-instrument manufacturing firm, specialized in microscopes, founded in Paris in 1839 by Camille Sébastien Nachet (1799-1881). Camille Sébastien's business was continued by his descendants Alfred (1831-1908) and Albert. In the 19th C., Nachet became probably the most famous French microscope maker. Introduced and created special instruments such as inverted, petrographic, and two- and three-eyepiece microscopes. Remained in business for most of the 20th C.
