Simple dissecting microscope, probably French. The iron base, carrying the mirror, supports the brass pillar to which the stage is attached. Above the stage is a collar for inserting one of the three lenses. The stage can be fitted with two small metal plates for resting one's hands when handling specimens. Belonged to the Gabinetto degli Invertebrati of the Istituto di Studi Superiori of Florence.
