The movement has two gilt brass plates with a verge escapement, a mainspring in a barrel, and a chain fusee. On the back plate, signed "Js. Coulin & Amy Bry a Genève 5030," is the bridge of the balance mechanism with its coqueret, i.e., the small bridge holding the burnished steel end-plate in position. The spiral spring is regulated by means of a pointer rotating on a small silver control disk, marked "AVANCE RETARD" ["Fast Slow"].
