Apollo-Helios with sphere, 1st century A.D.
Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei, inv. 8819
Apollo-Helios wearing a cloak, his head radiate and girt by a halo, holds a sphere in his left hand. In his right hand he grips a riding whip, an allusion to his chariot-driving skills and to his duties as guardian of Admetus' herd.
