Codex on the Flight of Birds, 18v. - Folio with hydrographic study near Florence, notes on daily life and first formulation of the prophecy on flight from Monte Cicero: "1505 Tuesday evening the day of April 14 Lorenzo came to stay with me; he says he is 17 years old. And on the day of April 15, I had 25 gold florins from the Camarlingo of Sancta Maria Nova. From the mountain that bears the name of the great bird will take flight the famous bird that will fill the world with its great fame", c. 1505.

Codex on the Flight of Birds, 17v. - Memory of the cortone seen at Fiesole on March 14: "When the bird has a great wingspread and a short tail, and with it wants to rise, then it will raise its wings forcefully and turning will receive the wind under its wings, the which wind, forming a cone, will powerfully thrust it upward, like the cortone bird of prey that I saw while going to Fiesole above the place of Barbital on the day of March 14", c. 1505.

Codex on the Flight of Birds. - Famous folio with studies of classical-style architecture, list of expenses and prophecy on flight from Monte Cicero: "The great bird will take its first flight on the back of the great Cecero, filling the universe with stupor, filling all writings with its renown and bringing eternal glory to the nest in which it was born", c. 1505.

Ms. B. - "Mode of forcefully launching water onto an army and bridges and walls of a city. For Lucca", c. 1487. Here Leonardo returns to the idea of flooding the city of Lucca that Machiavelli, in his Historie fiorentine, attributes to Brunelleschi (with a disastrous outcome). He elaborates the project for z dam on a canal having various "sluice gates" to be opened simultaneously, "at the firing of a musket shot" to create an "impetuous force".

Ms. E, 1r. - Memorandum: "On the force of a vacuum instantly generated. I saw in Milan a lightening bolt strike the tower of the Credenza... It was sucked into the vacuum that the flame from the lightening bolt left behind it, etc. and I have found parts of it in the high Apennines and as far away as the Sasso of La Vernia...", c. 1513

Ms. G, 1v. - "...Monbracco above Saluzzo, above the Certosa, a mile by foot from Monviso, has a mine of layered stone, which is white like the marble of Carrara without stains, and as hard as porphyry or even harder... On the day of January 5, 1511".

Ms. G, 43v. - "Let the profile be of stone from Fiesole, with water", c. 1515. This is probably a reference to a shaping machine, and Leonardo foresees the use of pietra serena from Fiesole.
