Farmacia Paoletti [Paoletti Pharmacy]
The first documentation on the Paoletti pharmacy dates from 1817. It is still located on the "Royal Pistoiese Road" (today's Via di Brozzi), on the ground floor of a building remodelled in 1968. From 1837 to 1894 it was managed by the pharmacist Lorenzo Cialdini della Sala, who obtained authorisation to sell, along with medicinal products, commodities such as salt, snuff and coffee, as recorded by the marble plate inscribed "Farmacia e drogheria Cialdini", hanging inside. It was managed later by Luigi Paoletti, for whom the pharmacy is named, and, since 1948, by the Danti family.
The pharmacy conserves a portal from 1829, part of the wooden furnishings, consisting of shelves and glass-fronted cabinets, as well as ceramic and glass jars dating from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th. It also possesses a copy of the Antico Ricettario fiorentino (ancient Florentine prescription book).
