Gangalandi Mill
Known since 1521, the Gangalandi Mill takes its name from that of its old owners. It is the best preserved example of the rich system of water-powered factories on Pisan territory. Recorded in 1869 among the 85 mills operating in Valle Graziosa, it remained in operation until 1949 when, following the death of the last miller, it was abandoned.
Today, the complex is in good repair: inside we can still see the millstones, gearing and everything that was used to produce flour. An important testimony of technologies and socioeconomic traditions of the past, in 1999 the Gangalandi Mill was subjected to historical-architectural constraint by the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities. The Museum of the Gangalandi Mill is currently being set up.
