Museo del ricamo [Embroidery Museum]
Situated on the ground floor of the ancient Palazzo Rospigliosi, the Museo del ricamo of Pistoia contains a good collection of embroidered fabrics, dating from the 17th to the 20th century, which document the local craftsmen's skill in this specific sector. Preceded by an educational section that illustrates the techniques and tools used in this work, the specimens are divided into two large categories: garments linked to domestic life, and gowns and furnishings of ecclesiastical origin.
Continuously enriched by loans and donations, the museum displays its pieces in rotation and proposes to organise periodic exhibitions of informative and educational nature.
