Universitą degli Studi di Pisa - Dipartimento di Chimica Bioorganica e Biofarmacia [University of Pisa - Department of Bio-organic Chemistry and Biopharmacy]

The Department was formed in 1998, by merging the Department of Bio-organic Chemistry and the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical Technology Section of the Department of Pharmaceutical Science. It consists of two sections: Organic Chemistry and Bio-organics, and Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical Technology. On the premises of the latter is the collection of pharmaceutical instrumentation, collected and arranged starting from 1998. It includes instruments for research in the pharmaceutical field dating from the late 19th to the mid-20th century. Noteworthy in particular are a pill-making machine, stoves, scales, glassware, devices for determining alcoholic contents, moulds for pessaries and suppositories, nutritional and medicinal samples.
