Testing the system in a real environment

The Institute and Museum of the History of Science was the ideal environment in which to test the Smartmuseum system, thanks to its rich collection of scientific instruments and the availability of a remarkable library of multimedia information that describes the objects, their history, and their function. The home of the museum, a historic palace in Florence, also allowed workers to confront problems associated with placing wiring in a building that was not intended for such technology.
