Using descriptive multimedia content regarding cultural heritage on rented hand-held devices or on the individual user's smartphone provides visitors with a deeper understanding of the museum and its exhibits. The system has the ability to automatically display related text and play short films. Furthermore, based on the choices of the user, it is able to suggest other related materials and additional tours. On outdoor tours the program combines geo-referencing and navigation systems that allow users to view the location of places of interest, to select and preview a location, and to see the closest places of interest with their respective distances.
